Bariera mikrofalowa na lotnisko

Airport microwave barrier: Microwave barriers are modern technology that guarantees safety. It is characterized by the fact that it is relatively quick to install and its operation is not problematic. A well-thought-out design is a guarantee of detecting a possible burglary attempt. What are the characteristics of microwave barriers? Why is an airport microwave barrier a good solution? Where can microwave barriers be used? Why should you choose to install a microwave barrier? The answers to these questions can be found in the following article, which we cordially invite all interested readers to read.

Microwave barriers – what are they?

Microwave barriers are devices that are able to trigger an alarm when there is a clear disturbance of the signal coming from the transmitter to the receiver. A specialized digital module is responsible for this, which is able to analyze both the course and duration of a given signal. In addition, it monitors possible changes in environmental conditions on an ongoing basis, and consequently is able to recognize whether the cause of a given disturbance was a person, or perhaps an animal or plant. Thanks to this, we can be sure that our perimeter protection is resistant to any false alarms – it is worth bearing in mind. A problematic issue for installers is the immunization of the alarm system.

It is necessary to take into account various factors that may cause interference. These are, for example, temperature changes, radio interference, branches, solar radiation, animals, plants, lamps, electrical discharges. These phenomena are very difficult to remove, however, manufacturers of security systems do everything in their power to make their devices resistant to various interferences. Possible operational problems are closely related to careless assembly or the use of active microwave barriers.

Airport microwave barrier – why is it a good solution?

Microwave barriers are commonly used in airports. These types of advanced security systems are able to create a completely invisible detection field that is between the transmitter and the receiver, just like in the case of infrared beam sensors.

It turns out that the microwave barriers control the area, the width of which oscillates within a few meters. In practice, it is not possible to cross the detection zone without triggering an alarm. It is also impossible to crawl under this space, even when the sensors are installed high above the ground. But what is the function of microwave barriers at airports? Well, first of all, they prevent aircraft collisions at airports. They guarantee a solution that significantly increases the level of crash safety.

Microwave gates will work well to support local air traffic control. They are also used to manage taxiways and their connections. Vigilantes can increase the ability to detect aircraft or other vehicles that are on runways.

Where can microwave barriers be used?

In practice, microwave barriers are used not only at airports, but also in many other locations. First of all, we should be aware that this is an alarm device that can be used to protect an object on the perimeter. As a curiosity it is worth to mention that this device consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The operation of the device consists in the fact that radiation is transmitted – it is this radiation that constitutes the boundary for the area to be protected.

The motion detector in the vast majority of cases is mounted along the fence, thanks to which the access of intruders to the premises is limited. There are many different barriers, for example, those with a range of 200 m are quite common. There are slightly more advanced models with a range of up to 300 meters. In the case of protection of private property, external barriers are recommended, the range of which oscillates around 50 meters. Thanks to this, it is possible to detect people who are planning to get into the building and steal.

Why should you choose to install a microwave barrier?

Microwave barriers are of great use due to a number of advantages of this solution. First of all, this type of security system is definitely less susceptible to weather conditions. The whole is fully resistant to sunlight. In practice, this means that the number of false alarms under the influence of sunlight is minimized. So we don’t have to worry about which way to place the transmitter and receiver.

Another advantage is the small size of the microwave barriers, which makes it possible to mask them. The number of false positives is very low, even when small objects enter the sensitive area. What is worth emphasizing – the sensors can be installed both on perimeter fences and along hedges.
